Newsletter #14

Dear friends and families,
So much has been going on lately! We’ve had our “Partners Day” at school on the 27th of March when we ate Norwegian specialities cooked by our chef, based on the recipes Norwegian students had sent us. On the same day, volunteer students could participate to a photo shooting to prepare for our Fashion activity. They had fun and discovered the Normand traditional costume that nobody wears here.

Meanwhile, with the school’s supervisors, younger students have organised a vote for favorite French songs that were chosen to be our ring bells and be translated and sent to our Norwegian friends who also have selected Norwegian songs. One of them, Floden by Emma Steinbakker, was used as our ring bell too when our partners were here, on the first week of April!

In fact, this was the main event this month: the Norwegians’ mobility to our shool! It was a busy week discovering Normandy and some of the vikings’ landmarks such as Ornavik or La Mora shipyard. But, we also worked together as we had organised technology and physics and chemistry workshops.
Here is a photo of Norwegian students making Oobleck, a substance invented by the famous writer D. Seuss! We also got to meet and present the project in front of the town’s mayor and pass on the torch to younger students in our school as we will be leaving soon.. It was an epic journey that we will remember forever! We will share more pictures in a slideshow.
