Newsletter #9
Dear Normen,
In May, some of us who study Geopolitics had the opportunity to go on a field trip to
Paris and we went to Europa Experience.
We did a role playing game, putting ourselves in Euro deputies’ shoes. It was very immersive and we could understand better what’s at stake when preparing amendments to improve life for member states. It’s so complicated!
We took a picture there, sending our Norwegian friends little hearts while we’re waiting to meet them! We can thus also present you our European section sweater!
We’ve sent emails about what Europe means to us to our friends and we’re eager to get their replies.
Meanwhile, we’ve finished our surveys. The first one on Viking logos: so many companies and sports clubs here in Normandy are using this symbol! They say it’s because the viking image conveys values of strength and courage. Then, we found out that school kids aged 9-10 have a vague idea of what vikings are but they don’t really know any famous viking or their history. It pushed them to go and learn more so they went to a local viking village called Ornavik.
We hope to go there with you too!
It’s the end of the school year for us here in France, as we are now going for our French final exams.
So, in our next newsletter, I guess, there’ll be a photo of all of us together.. in September! We can’t wait!
